Top View vs Side View NEON FLEX LED Strip

Neon Flex LED strips are available in two primary bending orientations: Top View and Side View. The difference is not about the brightness or colour, but the direction the strip can bend and where the light emits from. This determines which one is suitable for your installation.

Top View Side View

Light Direction:

  • The light emits from the top surface of the strip.

Bending Direction:

  • Designed to bend up and down, like flipping the pages of a book.

  • Not suitable for tight horizontal curves.

Best For:

  • 2D signage where curves or letters bend vertically

  • Outline lighting on walls, ceilings, or architectural edges

  • Front-facing shapes and lettering

  • Areas where the viewer looks directly at the face of the strip

Light Direction:

  • The light emits from the side surface of the strip.

Bending Direction:

  • Designed to bend left and right, like turning a steering wheel.

  • Perfect for horizontal curves and flexible shapes.

Best For:

  • 3D letters or signage with horizontal bending

  • Curved architectural outlines

  • Channel letters where light needs to face outward but bend sideways

  • Neat, continuous curves in horizontal planes
