At the Earlwood Property, PLEX LED strip lighting has been integrated throughout the interior to complement the architecture and materials of the home. From dark cabinetry and natural timber flooring to marble and terrazzo finishes, concealed lines of light introduce another layer to the interior without competing with the surrounding design.
PLEX is used across five distinct applications throughout the property, with its position changing according to the features and materials of each space. The result is a consistent approach to integrated lighting across the kitchen, dining area, living room, bathroom and closet.
Across the kitchen, dining area and living room, PLEX LED strip lighting is used to emphasise different architectural elements. In the kitchen, under-cabinet LED strip lighting illuminates the stovetop and draws attention to the heavily veined stone splashback. Beneath the floating bar cabinetry in the living room, a continuous line of light washes across the pale herringbone flooring, visually separating the dark cabinetry from the floor.
The living room takes a different approach, with PLEX concealed above the marble TV surround to wash light across the stone and emphasise the feature within the room. Together, these applications show how changing the position of LED strip can produce different effects while maintaining a consistent lighting approach throughout the interior.
The bathroom continues this approach with PLEX under-vanity LED strip lighting concealed beneath the floating vanity. The continuous line of illumination extends across the terrazzo-style floor while complementing the marble, textured tiles and brass finishes throughout the space.
In the adjoining walk-in wardrobe, PLEX LED strip is integrated beneath the cabinetry, creating another continuous line of illumination along the timber flooring. Across both spaces, keeping the light source largely hidden allows the lighting to work with the cabinetry and surrounding architecture rather than introducing another prominent fitting.
Across the Earlwood Property, PLEX LED strip lighting takes on a different role depending on where it is integrated. It highlights the stone surfaces of the kitchen and living room, defines the lower edge of cabinetry in the dining area and closet, and introduces concealed illumination beneath the bathroom vanity.
Using the same lighting format across these different applications creates a consistent visual connection throughout the home while allowing each installation to respond to the materials and architecture around it. The result highlights the versatility of integrated LED strip lighting across a contemporary residential interior.
